1. Scope
This Policy applies to the Ries.AI website, browser extension, account system, payment flows, and other related services or features connected to language exposure, content enhancement, and English-learning support.
2. Information we may collect
2.1 Information you provide to us
- Account information: such as your email address, sign-in identity details, and information you submit when you register, sign in, or contact support.
- Payment and order information: when you purchase a subscription or other paid access, we may receive order status, subscription status, billing identifiers, and related records. Payment details are usually processed by third-party payment providers.
- Support communications: when you send us email, feedback, or support requests, we receive the information and contact details you choose to provide.
2.2 Information generated when you use the service
- Device and technical information: such as device type, browser type, IP address, operating system version, access time, crash logs, and basic diagnostic data, used to keep the service secure and available.
- Usage information: such as feature triggers, page visits, button clicks, subscription changes, error reports, and basic performance data, used to understand and improve the product.
- Text and context information: when you actively trigger a Ries.AI feature, we may process the text you submit, necessary nearby context, target language, language settings, or related preferences in order to generate content enhancement, explanations, or learning-support outputs.
- Preference and memory information: when relevant features are enabled, we may store parts of your language settings, content preferences, or historical configuration so the experience can better match your current level and habits over time.
3. How we use information
We mainly use information to:
- provide, maintain, and improve Ries.AI's language exposure and learning-support features;
- generate context-aware content enhancement, explanations, and learning-support outputs in daily reading and viewing surfaces;
- detect bugs, performance issues, abuse, and security risks;
- manage registration, sign-in, payments, subscriptions, refunds, support, and service notices;
- remember your terminology, style, or preferences where that continuity is part of the product experience; and
- run internal analysis so we can understand what is useful and what still creates friction.
4. How we handle text and AI requests
- Some parts of the product may process information locally.
- Some features require us to send the text you actively submit, or the necessary surrounding context, to our servers or to third-party model and infrastructure providers for processing.
- We try to keep the processing scope limited to what is needed to complete the feature you triggered.
- We do not use your content for unrelated purposes unless that use is required to provide the service, troubleshoot issues, meet legal obligations, or support a product action you explicitly triggered.
5. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share necessary information in the following situations:
- Service providers: such as cloud hosting, logging, email delivery, payments, authentication, and storage providers.
- AI and infrastructure providers: when needed to generate results, relevant text and context may be processed by model providers or supporting infrastructure providers.
- Payment and business partners: when needed for orders, subscriptions, refunds, fraud prevention, accounting, or financial records.
- Legal and compliance requirements: when disclosure is required by law, regulation, court order, or regulatory authority.
- Business transfers: if we go through a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or reorganization, relevant information may be transferred as part of that process, subject to appropriate protection.
6. Data retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. Retention may depend on:
- whether the information is still needed to provide the service you requested;
- whether we have accounting, tax, audit, security, dispute-resolution, or legal obligations; and
- whether deletion would break product continuity you still rely on, such as account records, subscription status, or saved preferences.
7. Your choices and rights
To the extent allowed by applicable law, you may be able to:
- request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information;
- request account closure and deletion of data that no longer needs to be retained;
- adjust certain product settings, language preferences, or notification preferences; and
- contact us with privacy questions.
If you would like to exercise these rights, please contact us using the details below.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure basic traffic, and improve the website experience. You can usually control these through your browser settings.
9. Third-party services
Ries.AI may integrate with browser stores, payment platforms, sign-in services, analytics services, model providers, or other third-party services. Those third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies.
If we receive or process Google API data, its use and transfer will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements where applicable.
